Founded in 2002, Fluidity Design Consultants is a leading, Los Angeles-based water feature design and engineering firm with an international practice. Fluidity’s work has been recognized for its creativity and design excellence through numerous awards, competition successes, publications, and speaking engagements. The firm collaborates with many of the world’s most respected architects, landscape architects, institutions, and real estate developers in the realization of water features for all kinds of significant and delightful places. Fluidity is looking for a designer with a foundation in architecture or landscape architecture and design, with an emphasis on design development, producing construction documents, coordination, specialty assemblies, and fine detailing. The position requires a motivated, professional personality, developed design skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to producing quality work. The designer will be expected to collaborate as a team member with other designers and report to studio principals. Required Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software General knowledge of both Apple and Windows Operating Systems General knowledge of Sketchup and Rhino Proficiency in Revit is a plus Understanding of architectural drawing and production processes Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills Prior experience in an architect’s or landscape architect’s office during all phases of design A license in architecture or landscape architecture is a plus but not required. Responsibilities: Create project design drawings in AutoCAD or Revit during SD, DD, and CD phases Assist Studio Principals with meeting presentations Participate in design workshops & brainstorming sessions Create 3D Models and illustrations Attend phone or web conferences with clients (may be outside regular office hours) Design analysis Materials research and specification Coordinate with in-house engineers and other project consultants Participate in quality control procedures Travel to job sites during CA phase Experience Level Required: 5 years minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture. Graduate degree a plus, but not required.
