What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

  1. Develop and implement cohesive communications and outreach strategies aligned with agency mission and goals
  2. Support crisis communication efforts by drafting timely responses and media statements
  3. Create engaging outreach materials, including press releases, newsletters, and social media content
  4. Assist in the planning and coordination of events, including logistics and agenda development
  5. Conduct post-event evaluations to identify challenges and successes for future improvements

What is Required (Qualifications):

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field, or 3 years of relevant experience
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience developing communication packages or strategies for an organization
  3. At least 1 year of experience supporting an Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) and/or Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) program
  4. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  5. Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  1. Experience with 508 compliance
  2. Understanding of race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services
  3. Knowledge of challenges faced by refugees, immigrants, and asylees
  4. Experience in event planning and execution
  5. Previous work with refugee/migrant programs
