What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement cohesive communications and outreach strategies aligned with agency mission and goals
- Support crisis communication efforts by drafting timely responses and media statements
- Create engaging outreach materials, including press releases, newsletters, and social media content
- Assist in the planning and coordination of events, including logistics and agenda development
- Conduct post-event evaluations to identify challenges and successes for future improvements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field, or 3 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience developing communication packages or strategies for an organization
- At least 1 year of experience supporting an Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) and/or Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) program
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with 508 compliance
- Understanding of race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services
- Knowledge of challenges faced by refugees, immigrants, and asylees
- Experience in event planning and execution
- Previous work with refugee/migrant programs
