Content Strategist – Contract

Location: St. Louis, Missouri - However, US-based remote candidates are being accepted

Start Date: As soon as February 10, 2025

Weekly Commitment: Estimated 20+ hours/week, with potential for increased hours during key phases

Duration: Approximately 6 months, with potential for extension

Paradowski Creative is seeking an experienced Content Strategist (contract) to lead key elements of a transformative digital project. This contract role provides the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project aimed at assessing, strategizing, and enhancing the digital presence of a large organization.

What You Bring

You should be immersed in the latest thinking and best practices in content strategy, a champion of user needs, and as conversant with UX principles as you are with web and user data. You’ll be comfortable conducting research with stakeholders and users, as well as presenting your recommendations to clients. You have previous experience delivering content strategies for large corporate or complex websites.

What You’ll Do

As a Content Strategist, you’ll be instrumental in creating a cohesive, user-first content strategy while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You’ll oversee all phases of the project, from audits and strategy development to implementation and post-launch support.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Conducting stakeholder interviews to gather insights and define project goals.
  • Auditing the current website to assess content quality, relevance, and performance.
  • Analyzing audience needs and behaviors to inform strategy development.
  • Benchmarking competitors and industry best practices to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Delivering a detailed summary report outlining findings and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborating on usability testing and using analytics tools to ensure content strategy decisions are data-driven.
  • Developing a content strategy aligned with user needs, organizational goals, accessibility standards, and SEO best practices.
  • Collaborating with UX, creative and technical teams to inform the redesign, with site information architecture and navigation for a seamless, engaging user experience.
  • Overseeing content migration and optimization, ensuring quality control and accuracy throughout the implementation process while ensuring alignment with the new strategy and accessibility standards.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance for ongoing content enhancements post-launch.

Key Deliverables

  • Stakeholder interview insights and recommendations.
  • Website audit report, including performance analyses and content gap identification.
  • Audience segmentation and competitive benchmarking reports.
  • A comprehensive content strategy and UX roadmap.
  • A post-launch content optimization plan.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in content strategy, digital strategy, site auditing, or large-scale website projects.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess and analyze content performance, providing clear, actionable insights.
  • Collaboration: Strong experience aligning multidisciplinary teams, including UX, design, and development.
  • Leadership: Skilled in leading stakeholder engagements, research, and presenting strategic findings.
  • Tools & Technology: Proficiency in CMS platforms (ideally WordPress), familiarity with wireframing, SEO and analytics tools, and Google Sheets/Excel for auditing purposes.

Working Hours & Expectations

  • Availability: Starting as early as February 10, 2025
  • Estimated 20+ hours/week, with potential for increased hours during key phases
  • Must be available for scheduled meetings and check-ins during core business hours (8 AM–5 PM CT).
  • Communication: Proactively provide status updates, meet deadlines, and flag challenges as they arise.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to evolving project needs and priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Duration: Project-based contract, approximately 6 months, with potential for extension.
  • Location: While our agency is based in St. Louis, Missouri, and proximity is a plus, it is not required. The ideal candidate must be located within the United States and will have the flexibility to work remotely.
