We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Marketing & Public Relations Administrator, Senior (35935) in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. This position will be responsible for all public relations and media communications on behalf of the college. The pay for this position is $62,000.00.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and supervise up to three temporary and student workers including graphic designers, marketing assistants, arts writers, and photo interns.
- Initiate projects and provide content for all work assignments to maintain successful day-to-day objectives and meet deadlines.
- Design, write, edit, art direct, supervise, and facilitate the final production of all print and digital publications, brochures, advertisements, and program books.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and budgets for each department and special programs within the college, including student projects.
- Oversee and generate college recruitment and admissions marketing materials.
- Ensure adherence to the branding guidelines and standards established by Purdue Fort Wayne across all academic units.
- Create key messaging and copy to be used consistently across all integrated communication channels including the web page, social media, and digital calendars.
- Responsible for all public relations and media communications on behalf of the college.
- Write news releases, feature articles, and generate story ideas for local and regional print and electronic media.
- Establish and maintain relationships with members of the media, responding to their requests accurately and professionally, in a timely manner.
- Respond as needed to the Dean’s external communication requests.
- Create web and social media content designed to cultivate prospective students and increase engagement with the college.
- Maintain the college and departmental web pages and social media accounts, while providing supervision and direction to the college web team.
- Arrange photographic event coverage and maintain extensive photo archives.
- Create and coordinate promotional displays for campus and community events.
- Other assignments requested by the Dean.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, or another related field.
- 3 years of experience in marketing positions with increased responsibilities and accomplishments.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail and project management.
- Must have the ability to recruit, train, supervise, and coordinate activities with and for student employees and indirect reports.
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, manage ambiguity, and work with limited supervision and oversight.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, writing for publication, and copy-editing skills.
- Experience with content management system software, digital communication software for publication, Adobe Creative Suite, and art direction.
