RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify prospective clients through market research, cold calling, networking, and referrals, focusing on businesses seeking group benefit solutions.
- Client Consultations: Conduct in-depth consultations with prospective and existing clients to assess their employee benefits needs and identify areas for improvement or cost savings.
- Customized Plan Design: Collaborate with clients to design, propose, and implement tailored group benefit programs, including health insurance, wellness initiatives, and voluntary benefits.
- Presentation & Proposal Development: Create and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Carrier Negotiations: Partner with carriers to negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and benefits on behalf of clients.
- Market Expertise: Stay updated on trends, regulations, and innovations in the employee benefits industry to provide informed recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal service teams, account managers, and underwriters to ensure the successful onboarding and servicing of client accounts.
- Sales Metrics and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline progression, and revenue generation using CRM systems, providing regular reports to leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven success in employee benefits sales, insurance brokerage, or consulting, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Comprehensive understanding of group health, wellness, retirement, and ancillary benefits, as well as the associated market dynamics and carrier relationships.
- State of Texas Life and Health Insurance License (required; active license preferred at time of application).
- Familiarity with ACA regulations, benefits compliance requirements, and employee benefits administration.
- Outstanding interpersonal and consultative selling skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships and deliver tailored solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively.
- Experience working with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, marketing, or a related field (preferred); professional designations (e.g., CEBS, REBC) are a plus.
