America On Tech's mission is to prepare the next generation of technology leaders from underestimated communities. To date, we have worked with 5,000+ young people, provided them with our tuition-free courses, and helped provide work-based internship and learning programs to promote the advancement of underestimated students into technology pathways. Founded in 2014, AOT's work has been featured in Forbes, CNN, The Huffington Post, TechCrunch, BET and other leading publications. AOT has also been awarded by Forbes 30 Under 30, Wells Fargo and the Brooklyn Borough President's Office.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a talented and results-driven Grants Writer to join our team on a contractual basis. The Grants Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting compelling grant proposals to secure funding that advances America On Tech's mission. This individual will play a crucial role in helping us meet our $5.7M revenue goals and expand programming to serve more students.

This position is ideal for a professional with strong writing and organizational skills who is passionate about technology education and creating opportunities for youth from underestimated communities.

The Grants Writer will report directly to the VP of Development.

Responsibilities:

Grant Proposal Development:

Identify and research prospective funding opportunities, including foundations and corporations. Write, edit, and prepare 3-5 weekly compelling grant proposals tailored to the requirements of each funder. Ensure proposals align with AOT's mission, vision, and programs. Grant Management:

Manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal writing, submission, and drafting reports. Manage online portals and submit grant applications/reports. Track submission deadlines and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion. Collaborate with development and program teams to collect data and insights necessary for grant narratives and budgets. Maintain detailed records of grant submissions, awards, and deadlines. Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related role. Proven track record of securing 6-figure (or larger) grants from foundations and corporations. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and development strategies. Proficiency in Salesforce, Google Suite, and other project management tools is preferred. Passion for education, equity, and AOT's mission. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. Nice to Have:

Familiarity with technology education programs and initiatives. Experience working with nonprofits focused on youth development or workforce readiness.

Compensation: This is a contractual position, with compensation commensurate with experience and project scope.
