Burns & McDonnell is seeking to hire an experienced Communications Strategist for the Corporate Communications team in the Kansas City, MO office. As a Communications Strategist, you will be responsible for communication strategies in creating, preserving and promoting our strong employee ownership culture. The Communications Strategist is a resource in all things related to enhancing employee communications. Manage and lead employee communication campaigns, projects and deliverables. Strategize and develop communication deliverables and campaigns for internal clients. Write creative and compelling copy using AP style. Create and edit designs in programs like Canva to support communication messaging. Collaborate with other team members to align communications. Create and edit videos communicating messages to employees. Partner with other departments on communications and provide guidance for internal communications and related activities. Compile and present data and provide analytics on internal communications campaigns. Analyze internal communication campaign data and provide feedback on suggested changes, areas for improvement and successes. Provide resources for internal communications campaigns for company needs. Create presentations related to corporate culture, employee-ownership, company programs and information. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related degree required. Minimum of 4 (four) years of related experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience writing using AP style preferred. Proficient in Adobe Suite preferred. Experience creating designs in Canva or other tools preferred. Experience recording and editing simple videos preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to efficiently prioritize workload. Expert creative or technical writing experience. Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative public relations strategies. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and provide excellent client service. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly present complex information to a variety of media channels and range in audience. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute company events, presentations, and marketing events.
