Hiring Range: Maximum starting hourly rate: $20.00 per hour

Job Description: Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population.

The Writing Consultant will support the Writing Studio by providing consultation services to students and will support the studio coordinator by maintaining careful records of student interactions. Duties include one-on-one consultation services; supervising/checking in with independently working students; scheduling new/follow-up appointments with students; completing/verifying records of daily student interactions; developing/delivering studio workshops; and other tasks as assigned.

KSA's/Required Qualifications:

  • Experience that demonstrates extensive knowledge of English grammatical structures.
  • Instructional experience in English or writing-related discipline.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience working for a college writing center and/or experience working in a professional capacity with students.

Required Travel: This position may be asked to work on either the Parham Road (PRC) or Downtown (DTC) Campuses.
