Job Summary The Senior Content Editor will demonstrate their creative skills by transforming Southern Seminary and Boyce College content in various engaging and impactful forms of media and determining the best distribution method with a specific focus on social media. The Senior Content Editor is responsible for telling the Southern Story in a compelling, accurate and timely way. This person is responsible for leading the content marketing strategy for the institution and managing digital distribution channels. Essential Job Functions The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions: Work with Vice President of Communications to develop, implement, and measure a comprehensive content marketing strategy (digital communications, social media, editorial content, institutional websites, and emails) for Southern Seminary and Boyce College by analyzing the target audience Transform existing video and print content into other forms of media including using creativity to condense and reformat video material into short-form videos and articles for the goal of engaging wider audience Develop new content by requesting specific video, print, and other resources from faculty and other content creators (students, alumni, etc.). Content requests should be targeted to enhance existing content libraries and creatively edited to maximize effectiveness Enhance content through editing to ensure accuracy, clarity, and coherence and by creating and designing visual effects and graphics for continent Proactively involved in the content production process from ideation to final distribution; generating new ideas and concepts from chapel sermons, lectures, bookstore events, blogs, video content, etc. to use in innovative and engaging ways Leverage blogs, newsletters, and other relevant channels to promote and distribute the content and monitor and analyze the performance using data-driven insights to refine and optimize future distribution strategies. Build editorial calendar for social media strategy, including quarterly strategies for both Southern Seminary and Boyce College social properties, with emphasis on Instagram, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn Develop digital communication channels from relevant data (including customer and market research and tools such as Google Analytics) Track, analyze, and interpret results of digital marketing campaigns Establish an annual calendar of content (social media, editorial, etc.) Develop training for social media engagement for institutional sub-accounts Create templates for institutional sub-accounts to equip them for effectiveness Manage content on sbts.edu and boycecollege.com in conjunction with departmental section editors Review all articles and photographs for accuracy as well as potential libel or slander before publications are released digitally and/or go to press In collaboration with the Creative Director, oversee the development and deployment of brand style guides internally and by other institutional voices In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, oversee the deployment of marketing assets to digital audiences in a consistent and effective manner Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, social media, and public relations to ensure that content aligns with overall organizational goals and objectives Stay up to date with emerging content trends, platforms, and distribution methods and integrate them into the overall strategy Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor EDUCATION: The person in this position should have a minimum of two to four years' experience in social media management and/or digital marketing. EXPERIENCE: The person in this position should have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field. Training in WordPress, Buffer, and Trello production tools as well as practical knowledge of Adobe Suite, Web USX, SEO, email, and apps). They should have excellent writing and editing skills, familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems and SEO principles and strong analytical skills to assess the performance of distributed content and make data driven decisions. SUPERVISION: The person in this position will supervise the Content Editor. The person in this position will report to the Vice President of Communications WORK ENVIRONMENT: The person in this position will work in a traditional office environment.
