Role Summary:
The Director of Marketing will provide leadership for both Meriwether Corporate marketing and portfolio resort marketing efforts, including private club consumer outreach and residential real estate sales initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with Meriwether partners to define, design, and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that drive financial success for both the company and its properties. The Director of Marketing shall be responsible for the successful brand development and execution of marketing work across the entire portfolio of companies including the management of creative, digital media, brand and marketing technology systems at all levels. The Director of Marketing shall liaison with all third party agencies and our in-house Director of Real Estate Sales.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction:
Lead creative direction for all corporate materials, including presentations, templates, social media content, and web properties, ensuring consistency with the brand's vision and objectives. Digital Media Strategy:
Spearhead digital media planning and execution for property-level marketing strategies across the Meriwether portfolio, focusing on driving engagement and brand awareness. Agency Management:
Oversee the management of third-party creative agencies, ensuring that all deliverables align with brand standards and project goals. Real Estate Sales Support : Support real estate sales initiatives by developing tailored marketing strategies and materials to drive conversions. This include assisting sales teams with setting up digital systems and forms to track their progress via various CRM platforms. Brand Integrity & Design:
Ensure brand integrity by collaborating with project teams to develop design elements that align with corporate and property-level objectives. Brand Standards & Objectives:
Partner with property General Managers to establish and maintain property-specific brand standards and department-level marketing objectives, both annual and ad hoc. Graphic Design Creation:
Assist in the creation and execution of all graphic design elements at the property level, ensuring quality and brand alignment. Digital Media Asset Management:
Manage and maintain all digital media assets, including the web presence and social media profiles for Meriwether and its portfolio companies. Marketing Performance Reporting:
Lead the development of monthly and quarterly reports on marketing performance metrics at the project level, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. Qualifications and Experience: Education & Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required; additional certifications in digital marketing or design are a plus. Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with proven expertise in resort marketing, graphic design, and digital media management. Technical Proficiency:
Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design tools, marketing technology platforms such as CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and Google Analytics. Industry Expertise:
A background in resort hospitality, including private clubs, destination resorts, or hotels, is preferred. Communication Skills:
Strong copywriting and communication skills across multiple mediums, with experience creating compelling content for diverse audiences. Travel Commitment:
This position is based in San Diego, CA, and requires significant travel to various properties and projects. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on computers or participating in meetings. Ability to travel frequently, including domestic and international travel, to project and property locations. Capability to navigate various property environments, including resorts, hotels, and construction sites, with occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting (up to 40 pounds). Strong visual acuity for reviewing digital content, marketing materials, and reports in detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing.
