OFFICE:Whiteside County Administrator’s Office

POSITION:Grant Writer/Program Compliance and Oversight Monitor (PCOM) Full Time 35 hours/week

PAY GRADE:Grade 13

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Monitor and audit various monthly and quarterly IDOT reviews.
  • Develop and update a Service Coordination & Management Plan
  • Investigate and resolve all public transportation complaints.
  • Grant writing for various funding/projects.
  • Prepare & submit monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for grants.
  • Communicate with County Administrator and Director of Transportation.
  • Attend various committee meetings at Whiteside and Public Transportation.
  • Research and implement new guidelines from IDOT.
  • Attend trainings and conferences for various grants.
  • Issue corrective action for compliance problems.
  • Required to have knowledge of passenger vehicles for inspections.
  • Researches and identifies new government, corporate, foundation and private funding prospects.
  • Generates high-quality proposals, narratives, applications and supporting documents in response to solicitations consistent with all policies and procedures of Whiteside County.
  • Maintains primary responsibility for grant schedules and tracking grants.
  • Works with appropriate personnel to research, develop, write and submit letters of inquiry, concept papers and grant proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Public Administration, Business Administration, or related equivalent experience
  • Two or more years with grant writing experience
  • Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Experience of securing new funding opportunities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of research
  • Ability to distinguish and identify opportunities for Whiteside County
