We are Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), providing innovative resources and practice-oriented tools that help attorneys better serve their clients. From online legal research and MCLE to forms solutions and print books, CEB strives to make high-quality legal information accessible to everyone, from rural solo practices to large law firms. CEB was founded in 1947, with the mandate to educate veterans returning to the practice of law after service in World War II. As a not-for-profit program of the University of California, CEB is driven by the needs of the California legal community rather than by profit margins. Position Summary
Sacramento In-Person - CA Legislature Legal Reporting
Looking for an opportunity to support the legal community of CA state? Join our team as a Part-Time legal news writer BASED IN SACRAMENTO, CA. Spend 5 - 15 hours a week sourcing content, writing articles, and researching changes in the legal field for CA. The ideal candidate will be in-person in Sacramento, attending hearings or meeting with legislative officials to write and research content for Legal News articles and current affairs.

Qualifications
- Legal Journalism Experience or familiarity with the legal landscape (Preferred)
- Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills (Required)
- Ability to prioritize and work on deadline (Required)
- Knowledge of legal technologies and changing privacy rules with artificial intelligence (AI) (Preferred)
- Ability to report on timely legislative changes from the state capital in Sacramento (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area (e.g. Journalism) and/or equivalent experience/training (Required)
Special Conditions for Employment
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
