Job Opportunity: Director of Music and Organist
Augustus Lutheran Church, Trappe, PA
Augustus Lutheran Church in Trappe, PA is seeking a passionate and talented Director of Music and Organist to lead and enhance our worship music program. This position offers an opportunity to honor our strong liturgical traditions while inspiring and guiding musicians of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and provide music for regular worship services, holiday services, and special events.
- Direct the Adult Choir, Bell Choir, and Sunday School music program.
- Collaborate with the Pastor to select meaningful, high-quality music for Lutheran liturgical worship.
- Serve as organist for multiple services and maintain our instruments, including an Aeolian Skinner Organ by Walker Technical CompanyandSteinway piano.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in organ and choir direction.
- Familiarity with Lutheran liturgical traditions is preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to inspire volunteer musicians.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Minimum starting salary is $32,000, commensurate with experience and skill.
- Four weeks of paid vacation annually (being mindful of our busiest liturgical Seasons: Easter and Christmas).
- Additional income opportunities for weddings and funerals.
