Utilizing social media, digital, and print media, the Communications and Marketing Specialist will help grow brand awareness and market share, making Howard University College of Pharmacy a nationally and internationally known brand in pharmacy education. SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY: N/A NATURE AND SCOPE: The Communications and Marketing Specialist will lead, develop, execute, and evaluate strategic marketing and communications for Howard University College of Pharmacy. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Design website page and add content for all units at the College. Liaise with relevant vendors to ensure marketing materials are being utilized effectively. Liaise with relevant College and University departments and offices to ensure brand cohesion and events are highlighted. Edit and create content for events, newsletters, and special months (i.e. Black History Month, Pharmacist’s Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, etc.). Manage the mailing and/or distribution of swag bags to new students and graduating students. Update website with relevant news and programs to ensure it is up to date. Proof print, digital, and social materials from vendors and departments and offices in the University. Manage social media accounts, primarily the LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube accounts, with minimal attention to the Facebook and TikTok accounts. CORE COMPETENCIES: Experience utilizing social media. Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills. Experience with communication technologies. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience with content management systems. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Mass Media, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Business or related field preferred. Two years previous experience required.
