About the Role
We are on the hunt for a dress-obsessed Women’s Jacket & Bottoms Designer working a hybrid schedule at Ivy City’s HQ in Riverton, UT! (Potential relocation assistance available.) With 5+ years' experience in fashion design, our Women’s Jacket & Bottoms Designer has the foundational knowledge to hit the ground running. They are excited to magnify Ivy’s vision and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing and developing seasonal collections that reflect the brand’s aesthetic including Outerwear, Blazers, skirts, pants and jumpsuits.
- Research the marketplace for inspiration and product opportunities.
- Recognize and accurately forecast key trends and colors for the brand.
- Collaborate with Merchandising/Finance teams to identify key items aligned with seasonal briefs and business needs.
- Collaborate with Pre-Production on sourcing, innovating, and developing fabrics and trims.
- Prepare all necessary components for design presentations including mood boards, color palettes, etc.
- Collaborate with Technical Design to create and send tech packs to vendors, ensuring proto samples meet brand construction standards.
- Manage and track all proto sample development.
- Conduct proto review and fit sessions, send feedback to overseas vendors, and update sketches as necessary.
- Manage daily communication with domestic and overseas vendors.
- Work alongside other designers, pre-production, technical design, and production teams to ensure design integrity throughout the production process.
- Adhere to the production calendar and meet all deadlines.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Fashion Design.
- Strong understanding of garment construction & fabrication, and the ability to create front and flat sketches of garments.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories, with knowledge of production timelines and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Works well individually, as well as, with a team
- Flexible and adaptable to a very fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
