Through a multidisciplinary approach rooted in theatre and creative writing, Art Prevails Project aims to entertain, educate, and inspire.

Role Description

This is a part-time contract position as a Teaching Artist with Art Prevails Project. The Teaching Artist will be responsible for conducting arts education activities, creating lesson plans, facilitating workshops, and collaborating with community partners.

Our ideal candidate is eager to give back to their community and passionate about impacting, inspiring, and exposing the underserved to the transformative power of the arts.

These individuals play a crucial role in nurturing students' creativity by guiding them through the artistic process and are responsible for sparking an interest in creative expression and honing students' skills and techniques in various art forms, all in accordance with the guidelines set by Art Prevails Project.

Qualifications

  • Experience in arts, education or both
  • Knowledge and experience in specific art forms: theatre, poetry, creative writing, storytelling, music, visual art, media or photography
  • Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and workshops
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
