Circulation Clerk at Katonah Village Library Job at Ramapo Catskill Library Syst

We are looking for a friendly, service-oriented, collaborative Circulation Clerk to work Sundays from 12pm-5pm (several Sundays a month), with occasional Saturdays and the possibility of weekday (coverage) shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Check materials in and out, place holds for patrons, and assist with finding books.
2. Provide excellent customer service to patrons of all ages, in person and over the phone.
3. Assist patrons in registering for programs and special events.
4. Assist patrons in use of computers, printer, scanner and fax.
5. Provide basic reference assistance.
6. Shelve returned books and maintain an organized, welcoming space.
7. Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. High School degree.
2. Previous Library experience or knowledge of Evergreen (ILS) is a bonus.
3. A general knowledge of popular reads and current literary trends is helpful.

The position offers an hourly rate of $20/hour for Sunday shifts and $17/hour for all other days.
