POSITION SUMMARY

The Visual Media Specialist is responsible for creating corporate videos to support the promotion of the company’s products, services, image and overall appeal. This typically involves following an outline, script or shot list and assembling the footage into one cohesive video or film. It is the responsibility of the Visual Media Specialist to review all the footage and create the best output by cutting and connecting various footage, adding sound effects and graphics and fine-tuning the completed video or film. The Visual Media Specialist is also responsible for posting, sharing and promoting its use via social media platforms.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software and ensure each was updated in the correct format.
  • Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects.
  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video's creation.
  • Create an initial proposed storyboard draft of the video to present to clients and receive approval before beginning to digitally alter video.
  • Improve video and sound quality using various video software.
  • Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project.
  • Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to the needs of the project.
  • Create images and videos as needed to support corporate digital marketing strategy and initiatives.
  • Maintain, track and improve the key metrics of the corporate YouTube channel.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others.

SKILLS / COMPETENCY

  • Bachelor's degree in film editing or related degree is required.
  • 1-3 years of relatable experience.
  • Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs, preferably Adobe Premier.
  • Proficiency with all programs in Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously.
  • Creative experience in filmmaking and videography.
  • Ability to understand the desired outcome of a project when meeting with clients and the ability to bring them to life.
  • Experience editing various video projects and inserting sound effects, music and transitions.
  • Proficient in creating concept boards and other visual representations of planned edits for video projects.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other creative professionals to supply top-notch finalized products.
