Job Description

As a UX Designer, you’ll work closely with product managers, content strategists, UI designers, developers, and researchers to create an elegant customer experience. You will look for ways to remove the difficult and make complex experiences feel easy and intuitive, helping our customers feel empowered. You will confidently make and defend decisions while creating user-centered online experiences in an agile environment.

About The Role

As a UX Designer, you will:

  • Create and build – Work with the team to iterate through journey maps, storyboards, user flows, sketches, wireframes, and other design artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and a dynamic content strategy. Have experience with responsive UI design methodology and processes (user-centered and iterative design). Create prototypes for UX research testing with industry-leading tools.
  • Be part of a collaborative team: Work closely with the UX Designers, Content Strategists, and UX Researchers in a collaborative team-oriented environment to create new products, features, and functionality. Advocate for the user’s needs while developing features that align with the needs of the user.
  • Be an Effective Communicator: Share ideas, participate in peer-reviews, and exhibit strong listening skills. You justify and articulate design decisions during design reviews. You assist in brainstorming and sketching sessions with product teams. Prepare UX documentation to be used by the development team.
  • Be Curious & Innovative: Continuously seek opportunities for learning and leveraging new technologies and best practices within the field of user experience to enhance our practices. Turn user research and usability feedback into easy-to-use solutions.

About You

You’re a fit for this role if you have:

Basic Qualifications

  • 3-5 years design experience creating simple solutions for complex challenges.
  • Experience in responsive design.
  • Experience with industry-leading prototyping tools.
  • Strong portfolio of work that illustrates your process, your level of craft, and the results you have driven.
  • Familiarity with Agile development.
  • Confidence in working with a strong, passionate, fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong time-management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA/BS in graphic design, fine art, visual communications, HCI, or related field (or equivalent industry training/experience).
  • Familiarity with web standards (W3C and 508) / best practices for interaction design and accessibility.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $130,000.
