Job Description Overview: Production Artist
The role of the Production Artist is to handle all aspects of art creation and retouching for B2C flash and non-flash channels and websites in addition to Amazon marketplaces. The Production Artist is highly organized, with the ability to prioritize Image/Order Review, Color Correction, Art Creation, and Retouching. In addition, the Production Artist will assess and assign projects from other departments such as Creative, Content, Production, and Marketing to members of the production art team based on skill level, priority, and current workload.
Tasks description – Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviewing and Editing Artwork: 50% of position responsibility
- Review, edit and retouch digital photos and images to prep them for printing in varying sizes.
- Use Photoshop to evaluate and correct an image’s color profile.
- Crop and enhance images per customer request.
- Categorize art and meta data.
- Perfect and enhance art from new partners.
- Review and edit images for B2C flash and non-flash channels and websites in addition to Amazon marketplaces.
Image Creation: 40% of position responsibility
- Create overlays for B2B partners.
- Construct art room settings to be used across all art marketing channels.
- Design patterns and designs to be printed on a variety of substrates.
Internal Customer Support and Process Improvement: 10% of position responsibility
- Implement tracking system to monitor time creative team spends on projects to ensure appropriate allocation of time and resources of art creation services.
- Support customer service and production to ensure that all critical and rush orders are executed in a timely manner.
- Work with manager and other leads to manage and prioritize assignments.
- Sit in on weekly Circle Art Group sprint planning meetings to ensure that jobs and tasks are assigned appropriately.
- Collaborate with customer service to solve problems that pertain to image review.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Skills, Intellectual Demands and Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or similar field or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Prepress or the Printing Industry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Maintain a balance of speed and accuracy with the ability to quickly pivot on the fly as needs and priorities change.
- Demonstrate superior knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and File Maker.
- Experience with MS Office Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Proven ability to develop positive relationships through “open door” communications.
- Proven ability to act independently, exercise judgment and influence people to take appropriate actions.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through with communication and a sense of urgency for deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Ability to “multi-task” while also reassessing priorities on a continual basis.
- Ability to train, mentor and coach associates and new hires.
- Ability to acquire intimate understanding of Circle Graphics art brands and marketplaces.
- Must have an understanding of our different art sales channels.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Understanding of art trends and have an ability to create trending art quickly.
- Ability to motivate others to meet the demands of the department.
- Ability and desire to work during critical holiday marketing days: Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc.
- Ability to flex across multiple departments as priorities and needs change.

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
- Must be approachable and responsive to a variety of cross-functional teams and issues.
Additional Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Production Director on special projects as needed.
