The Assistant Athletic Director of Communications and Brand Strategy for Carolina Football will report to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations and Strategic Communications and work directly with the Head Coach and staff of the football program. This role includes:

  1. Serves as the communications and media advisor to the head coach, coaching staff, and student-athletes.
  2. Providing input and guidance on all external-facing statements, social media presence, news releases, videos, and other communications.
  3. Acting as the media spokesperson for Carolina Football.
  4. Managing media requests to the head coach, staff, and student-athletes.
  5. Scheduling and managing interviews and news conferences.
  6. Building and managing relationships with local and national media.
  7. Pitching stories and ensuring that game notes and other deliverables appropriately promote the program.
  8. Leading press box management on game days.
  9. Overseeing the Director of Creative Services and Social Media for Football, the Director of Graphics Design for Football, and the Football Videographer.
  10. Working with Football Recruiting to ensure recruiting communications needs are met.
  11. Managing budgeted Football Communications funds.
  12. Leading Brand Management meetings with representatives from various units to proactively plan and engage communications about events.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required with strong strategic writing and verbal communication skills.
  2. Experience planning and implementing marketing campaigns.
  3. Ability to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Knowledge and compliance with NCAA, ACC, and University rules.
