The Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Chief Counsel and Litigation Services Section, is currently seeking an experienced Research Librarian with a passion for public service to join its Research and Library Services team. The chosen candidate will have strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills, willingness and capacity to deal with multiple variables in unfamiliar contexts in a timely manner, and a willingness to work independently. The headquarter location is 30 E. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio.

The successful candidate will perform the following duties, which include but are not limited to:

  • Standard Librarian duties, including resource evaluation, original cataloging, and providing online and in-person resource instruction for Attorney General staff.
  • Conduct effective reference interviews to determine information needs; researches in a wide variety of fields (e.g., legal, medical, scientific, historic); examines backgrounds, assets and publications of parties, witnesses, experts & vendors.
  • Participates in professional organizations, resource sharing, and takes advantage of continuing education opportunities.

Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree is required.
