The New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) is dedicated to creating and supporting partnerships among schools, families, and the community. As a part of the Marketing and Branding office, the Brand Manager will serve as a liaison between the creative team and other colleagues across the agency for the purpose of identifying hyper local marketing needs, identifying areas that require additional investment in marketing and developing content across various channels and platforms. The Brand Manager must have an eye for detail and will manage multichannel creative presentations showcasing the look, feel and tone of NYCPS creative assets in traditional marketing, out of home and social media. Director of Marketing and Branding, Marketing Manager, Creative Specialist, colleagues in offices and divisions throughout the NYCPS, and vendors. Responsibilities Ensure brand integrity in all advertisement and promotional materials for Central NYCPS offices, district offices and schools for school-based marketing plans. Lead the development and messaging of the brand narrative. Develops and manages marketing visuals. Utilize design skills to collaborate with the creative team in developing and producing visual assets, such as templates, marketing collateral, and digital content, ensuring all materials align with NYCPS branding standards. Provide hands-on design support for high-profile branding projects as needed. Research and analyze customer behavior, market trends, and competitor activity by regularly conducting school visits, performing assessments, and providing feedback on marketing, branding, and community engagement practices. Establish budgets, performance specifications, and engagement estimates. Identify target audiences and provide recommendations to optimize the development of marketing plans to meet specific objectives across different channels and segments. Advise and assist the Director of Marketing and Branding with quarterly and annual reports on marketing performance and advertising budgets. Ensure that messaging and marketing activities are aligned with Mayoral and Chancellor priorities. Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies. Ensure marketing projects are completed on schedule and on/under budget. Work in partnership with the Marketing Manager and creative team to develop campaigns that meet objectives for public-facing multichannel marketing efforts, including radio, TV, print, online advertising, Digital Out-of-home (DOOH), Out-of-home (OOH) , and video assets in all 10 NYCPS supported languages. Serve as a liaison between Marketing and Branding, other NYCPS offices, and school-based staff who are responsible for branding implementation. Build relationships throughout the agency to identify opportunities, leverage internal support, and drive collaboration with a focus on enrollment. Review all agency ads for final quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC). Collaborate with Marketing Manager in establishing performance specifications and report performance on marketing campaigns, including ROI and KPIs. Create and manage agency marketing and branding email update, including establishing an inter-office workflow and maintaining an email marketing calendar to support schools and enrollment/engagement in collaboration with other offices. Manage special projects and initiatives to support the Marketing and Branding team as needed. Qualification Requirements: Minimum A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with 24 credits in English, journalism or public relations, plus five (5) years of full-time paid experience in public relations, journalism or advertising, including two (2) years in an administrative, supervisory or consultative capacity; or A combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. Graduate study in English, journalism, or public relations may be substituted for up to one (1) year of required experience. However, all candidates must have at least two (2) years of administrative, supervisory, or consultative experience in public relations, journalism or advertising. Preferred Strong understanding of NYCPS’s business model and how creative solutions contribute to the NYCPS success over time. Proven experience managing multichannel marketing plans and campaigns. Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills. Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to think strategically about audiences and marketing strategy. Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite. Familiar with Adobe Market or email marketing tools.
