Profile

A law firm is seeking a Transactional Entertainment Associate with a strong foundation in scripted television and film deal-making. This position is ideal for a legal professional with hands-on experience negotiating and structuring industry agreements. The role involves working with top-tier creative talent, including acclaimed writers, directors, actors, and producers while navigating complex negotiations with production companies, studios, and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle High-Level Transactions: Structure, draft, and negotiate contracts for scripted television and film projects.
  • Represent Talent in the Industry: Advocate for award-winning creatives in their negotiations with major entertainment entities.
  • Navigate Deal-Making with Studios & Production Companies: Collaborate with industry leaders to ensure favorable contract terms and protect clients’ interests.
  • Manage a Variety of Agreements: Oversee talent agreements, production deals, rights acquisitions, and other key transactions in the entertainment sector.
  • Provide Strategic Legal Counsel: Advise clients on the nuances of entertainment law, deal structures, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Industry-Specific Experience: 2 to 10 years of dedicated experience handling scripted entertainment transactions in film and television.
  • Proven Background in Entertainment Law: Prior work at an established entertainment law firm, studio, or comparable setting is required.
  • Expertise in Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Must have direct, hands-on involvement in entertainment transactions—not litigation, general corporate law, or attorneys looking to transition into entertainment.
  • Los Angeles-Based: Must reside in Los Angeles, CA to engage effectively with industry stakeholders.
  • Academic Excellence & Licensure: Strong academic credentials and an active California Bar membership are required.

This is a rare opportunity to join a prestigious entertainment law firm and engage in real, high-stakes deal-making with major studios and top creative talent.
