We’re looking for a dynamic Managing Editor to lead our editorial team, shape our content strategy, and further enhance the Kim Komando brand.

Job Summary:

As the Managing Editor for The Current Newsletter, you will oversee all editorial operations and content production, ensuring that our tech-focused content remains authoritative, engaging, and timely. You will work closely with Kim and our team of writers, digital marketers, and multimedia specialists to maintain our reputation as a go-to source for technology advice. This role requires a strong passion for technology, a deep understanding of digital publishing, and the ability to inspire a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an editorial strategy that aligns with Kim Komando’s brand and vision.
  • Ensure content maintains the signature voice and style that resonates with our tech-savvy audience.
  • Oversee the daily production and curation of newsletter content, including tech news, reviews, and feature articles.
  • Manage a team of writers, editors, and freelancers, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative, creative environment.
  • Work closely with Kim Komando, digital marketing, and multimedia teams to integrate innovative content formats (video, interactive features, etc.).
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects to expand our reach and engage our growing subscriber base.
  • Leverage analytics and subscriber feedback to continuously refine content strategies and boost audience engagement.
  • Stay on top of emerging tech trends and industry developments to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Oversee editorial calendars, ensuring deadlines are met and content is delivered on schedule.
  • Manage budgets, including negotiating contracts with freelance talent and ensuring cost-effective production without compromising quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital publishing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technology journalism or tech-focused content creation is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an ability to adapt tone and style to suit Kim Komando’s brand.
  • Proven experience managing creative teams and driving editorial strategies in a digital environment.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with newsletter production and email marketing strategies.
  • Familiarity with SEO, digital marketing, and social media best practices.
  • A passion for technology and staying current on industry trends.

Salary Range: $80-100K DOE
