Candidates will perform all work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Resolves complex issues on critical programs related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications and design.
  2. Leads technical aspect of proposal preparation.
  3. Identifies critical performance measures and develops processes for computing them.
  4. Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services.
  5. Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
  6. Develops new concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  7. Recommends and manages technology insertion.
  8. Works under consultative direction.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. BSEE or equivalent technical degree with 6 years of relevant experience or MS with 4 years of experience, or PhD with 2 years of relevant experience.
  2. Ability to translate requirements to design.
  3. Experience with high level architectural design and component selection.
  4. Proven experience performing an electronic detailed design, including schematic capture.
  5. Proficient using EDA tools.
  6. Experience with test planning and execution.
  7. Experience with test procedure development and documentation.
  8. Proficient using electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, DMMs, and logic analyzers.
  9. Strong analytical skills and ability to debug complex systems.
  10. Process oriented and familiarity with problem tracking systems.
  11. Ability to communicate effectively.
  12. Ability to work independently and deliver on schedule commitments.
  13. Candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility as needed.
  14. Candidates must be U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder).

Candidates will have experience in some of the following areas:

  1. Aircraft avionics.
  2. Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital tool.
  3. Block diagramming with Microsoft Visio.
  4. Experience supporting the manufacturing process from requirements through build and test.
  5. Experience designing and/or testing analog power electronics, including 28VDC systems and 115VAC.
  6. Familiarity with high voltage power systems for electric aircraft propulsion.

Top 3-5 Skills:

  1. Catia V5.
  2. Catia Wire Routing Toolbench.
  3. Experience in Electrical component installations, wire routing, and power distribution.

Industry Background: Major aerospace and/or defense contractors.

Experience with environmental qualification and stress testing of hardware.
