Conduct editorial services to enhance the quality of communications, ensuring adherence to Associated Press style guidelines and plain language principles. Respond to inquiries from media, constituents, and the public regarding NOAA’s programs, coordinating with subject matter experts for accurate responses. Develop strategic communications plans for major NOAA announcements targeting external audiences. Produce editorial and graphic design services for briefing materials for NOAA leadership. Conduct event planning for NOAA in-person and virtual events, including logistics coordination and material development. Produce in-depth communications analysis evaluating the reach and effectiveness of NOAA’s announcements. Additional Skills and Experience Required: Familiarity with media and constituent relations systems (e.g., Meltwater, Quorum) and content management systems (e.g., Drupal). Experience in managing and supporting the implementation of client objectives and programs. Skills in strategy development and public relations, including digital content creation and social media outreach. Ability to research, conceptualize, write, proofread, and edit original content on scientific topics. Experience in managing overall communications and strategic direction for client objectives. This is a remote position.
