Job Description

CNBC is seeking a social media pro to produce content and help grow our digital presence. The social media producer, based in CNBC’s Englewood Cliffs, NJ office, will create and distribute posts and social videos to increase traffic and engagement across all CNBC social platforms, with a focus on Instagram, Reddit, and Threads.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a creative eye. This position requires impeccable spelling and grammar, and a good understanding of social media trends and the content that works best on each platform. Producing graphics is one of the main responsibilities for this role, so Adobe Photoshop experience is necessary. Proficiency in Premiere, Illustrator and After Effects is an added bonus.

  • Work with the Social Editor to execute strategy across platforms and manage day-to-day posting
  • Create graphics for Instagram and other platforms
  • Produce social-first content
  • Edit videos for social platforms
  • Host Reddit AMAs with CNBC reporters and staff
  • Identify subreddits that fit the CNBC brand and post there
  • Review social analytics to determine posting strategies

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years working full-time in a newsroom or for a company with a focus on news and storytelling
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
  • A proven track record of growing social accounts and referrals
  • Strong news judgment and a sense of trending topics that will resonate with the CNBC audience
  • Must be able to edit and write accurately in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Passionate about digital storytelling and creating the best user experience online
  • Ability to perform and multi-task under pressure
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours
  • Flexible mindset as our workflow evolves
  • Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs
  • Bachelor's Degree completed, or comparable professional experience
