Job Title: Technical Writer - Product Manager

Location: O'Fallon, MO

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Role:

We are looking for an experienced technical writer to join our team and help take our client-focused services to new heights. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering.

This person works hand-in-hand with all the stakeholders in defining documents and articulating what the customers are expected to do, what the product does, efficiently and accurately in a way that's customer facing.

Your ability to evaluate and analyze complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.

This exciting new role requires you to work closely with the service owners, product managers, and cross-functional teams to document details of various services, from the highest-level business benefit to the technical details.


In this role, you will:

• Develop comprehensive API Technical documentation that meets organizational standards.

• Write developer-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into a language that sets our users up for success.

• Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.

• Develop and update customer-facing implementation guides, capture evolving product capabilities and work with internal partners to publish to regular release cycles.

• Work with technical specifications, identifying and translating required content into clear customer guidance.

• Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content.

• Create and contribute to internal slide decks, documents, and wiki pages to help increase knowledge of our platform, systems and services internally.

• Ensure all documentation deliverables are produced to the expected quality, timeframes and standards.

• Work effectively with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross functional teams (some located remotely), sourcing information and driving content reviews and determining the best solution for presenting the documentation on our website.

• Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing technical documentation, working closely with various API subject matter experts to understand project requirements.

• Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write technical specifications, and process documentation.


All About You

• Have a proven record writing effective documentation for technical systems or platforms.

• Working knowledge of structured writing, markdown, HTML, CSS, APIs.

• Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, showcasing strong organizational skills.

• Be a strong, confident writer and speaker, able to communicate well with stakeholders to get answers and drive reviews.

• Be skilled at explaining technical concepts succinctly and clearly, and able to troubleshoot independently.

• Be customer-focused, able to recognize customers’ needs and challenges and identify possible solutions.

• Accountable and driven to produce accurate, best-in-class documentation in line with established standards and style guides.

• Be self-motivated and diligent, yet able to adapt when needed.

• Be proficient with authoring tools.


Advantageous:

• Experience documenting payment platforms or similar large systems.
