Summary
Broadway.com is seeking a part-time Editorial Assistant to contribute engaging and high-quality editorial content. This role involves researching and writing articles, staying ahead of Broadway industry trends, and assisting with special projects, including occasional production work for photo shoots.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and write engaging articles, news, and features covering Broadway’s major moments, productions, and rising stars.
- Pitch fresh, relevant, and timely story ideas based on industry trends, new productions, casting announcements, and awards season updates.
- Conduct thorough research to shape compelling, fact-checked content that aligns with Broadway.com’s editorial voice.
- Ensure all articles adhere to AP style guidelines and journalistic best practices.
- Work closely with editors to refine content and incorporate feedback.

Qualifications aka KSAOs
- Strong writing skills with a clear, engaging voice.
- Ability to craft well-researched, sharp, and insightful articles.
- Familiarity with Broadway productions, industry trends, and key players.
- Understanding of journalistic standards, AP style, and fact-checking best practices.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take feedback and refine work.
- Basic knowledge of digital publishing tools (CMS experience is a plus).
- Genuine enthusiasm for theater and Broadway storytelling.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, theater studies, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in editorial writing, blogging, or journalism (preferred but not required).
