Meta Reality Labs is shaping the future of technology, and our Industrial Design team is bringing this next generation of hardware to life. As a Packaging Designer at Meta, you will create delightful, holistically considered packaging that elevates our total brand experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Design category-leading structural packaging for Meta's hardware business.
  2. Define the unboxing experience from purchase to set-up, optimizing for a seamless physical-to-digital flow.
  3. Shape the structural language of our brand through packaging, considering materials, construction, tonality, and print.
  4. Collaborate with User Experience Research teams to uncover OOBE insights and test concept performance against core product goals.
  5. Work closely with Marketing teams to inform artwork approach and ensure harmonious integration of 2D and 3D assets.
  6. Conceive elegant solutions to address technical challenges and complex shipping requirements.
  7. Partner with engineers to realize designs and ensure flawless delivery against robust test standards.
  8. Drive upstream innovation, exploring new approaches to package form, function, construction, and material.
  9. Utilize technical processes, materials, and technologies to advance sustainability goals.
  10. Communicate clearly and partner with cross-functional teams to execute under tight timelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design (3D), or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience as an industrial designer, developing consumer packaging or 3D/physical brand experiences.
  3. Hands-on experience exploring and refining designs through iterative prototyping (Dielines/3D).
  4. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and render packages (SolidWorks, NX, Rhino, Keyshot).

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of experience as an industrial designer, developing consumer packaging or 3D/physical brand experiences.

US$139,000/year to US$200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
