100% Senior Imaging Technologist - Adult Cardiac Cath Lab - UI Heart and Vascular Center

The UI Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a full-time (100%) Senior Imaging Technologist to operate digital angiography imaging equipment, physiologic recorder and analysis equipment. Performs scrub/circulating duties during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; facilitates handoff reporting while providing effective and efficient communication with patient/family and other customers of the lab. Works under limited supervision.

Work Schedule:
- 4 - 10 hour Day shifts with rotating day off (Monday - Friday)
- Night/Weekend/Holiday on-call assignment
Duties include:
- Operate angiography imaging equipment
- Operate analysis equipment such as cardiac output computers, oxygen consumption monitors, oximeters, and hemochron machines
- Operate pressure injection systems for contrast delivery as ordered by the cardiologist
- Prepare and operate the Intra-aortic Balloon Pump under supervision and orders of the cardiologist
- Maintain radiologic equipment through quality control checks
- Perform general maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and initiate repairs when needed
- Perform sterile table setup and post-procedure cleanup
- Conduct circulating duties including patient care, BLS/ACLS, vital signs, and site preparation
- Provide instruction and orientation to trainees, students, and staff on equipment and safety
- Assist with inventory and supply ordering
- Share on-call responsibilities
- Stay current with developments in radiologic technology via meetings, education, and journals
- Follow policies and procedures in accordance with UIH, Department of Internal Medicine, and UI Heart & Vascular Center
- Demonstrate responsibility, professionalism, and flexibility in assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related Allied Health Sciences discipline, or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months imaging tech experience (Cath or EP preferred)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills
- Respond to on-call within 20-30 minutes
Certification/Licensure:
- ARRT certification and/or other radiologic tech certification required
- Iowa Permit to Practice for operating ionizing radiation equipment required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of imaging tech experience in Cath or EP settings
- Knowledge of UI policies and procedures
