Job Description:
Teaches a wide range of courses in Media and Journalism Studies.Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomesPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsEvaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinationsMaintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlinesBe available to students for coachingPeriodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development
Required Qualifications:Master's degree or higher in Journalism/Mass Communications; or master's degree in related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Journalism/Mass CommunicationsProfessional experience with news writing, social media, and mass communication stylesDemonstrated experience in the use of instructional technologies to teach traditional, hybrid and/or distance learning classes, and /or as a supplementDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsSensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years recent professional experience in the journalism fieldTeaching experience
Special Note: Thisis a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed andhired on an as-needed basis throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
