Overview
Manage a staff of student-workers responsible for day-to-day social media creation and oversight.Evaluate and implement current and up-coming social media trends for application to department needs.Monitor and provide advice for the department’s specific sports social media channels.Graphic Design Creation | 30%
Develop creative content for Whitworth’s social media, website, and streaming platforms.Create templates for weekly updates and special announcements.Create on-screen graphics for streaming events on Production Truck.Create printed material for marketing Whitworth Athletics (ex. season tickets, Pirate Night, Pirate Golf Classic).Sports Communications | 30%
Manage on-site statistics, video stream, and other game management duties.Write weekly updates and post-game press releases.Manage content on the athletics website.Nominate Whitworth student-athletes and coaches for appropriate awards.Other | 10%
Additional responsibilities will be assigned that may include other administrative duties dependent on the knowledge, skills, interests, and experience brought to this position. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to contribute to student mentoring, staff retreats, and university committees.Education and Experience

Strong written and verbal communications skills.Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty, alumni, fans, parents, and students.Strong background in graphic design, content production, social media coordination.The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of a broad base of sports.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design tools.Experience with NCAA Live Stats, Statcrew, and other statistics platforms.A strong understanding of the rules and scoring guidelines for collegiate sports.Ability to manage and train a staff of student workers.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team atmosphere in the Athletics Department.Strong commitment to the University and the NCAA Division III philosophy.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, or field related to the responsibilities of the position, no experience required.Experience in graphic design, social media coordination, and content production within an athletics framework.Schedule
