Job Description
The Ohio University School of Film invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction in Film position beginning August 15, 2025.
The successful candidate will be a filmmaker with credits in feature and/or short films that have screened at noteworthy film festivals, conferences, and/or have been distributed. The candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of production courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including film production, cinematography, and virtual production courses. As instructional faculty, this position will be responsible for teaching four courses in the Fall semester, and four courses in the Spring semester. The candidate may also be asked to advise on capstone projects at the undergraduate level and thesis projects at the graduate level.

Minimum Qualifications
MFA or professional equivalent, with significant creative practice in film and/or television.
A record of narrative filmmaking with on-set production experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in Cinematography and Virtual Production.
Knowledgeable in a variety of film production technologies.
A record of successful teaching at the college, university, or professional level.
A record of documentary filmmaking.
