Job Description
Social Media Intern
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, established to assist in regional planning. NCTCOG's purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions. The NCTCOG Environment & Development Department is seeking an intern to support social media and graphic design for the department's focus areas. These focus areas include natural resources, public works, regional building codes, watershed management, and development excellence. More information can be found at https://www.nctcog.org/envir/.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Designing, captioning, and scheduling social media posts for multiple platformsConducting Google Analytics and boosting postsDesigning posters, templates, logos, infographics, animated videos, and other visualsProofreading documentsConducting email blasts or other mass communicationsPresenting and receiving feedback at committee meetings attended by participating cities and countiesWriting press releasesDesired Skills:
Experience using a variety of design tools, including Adobe products, Canva, VyondStrong writing and proofreading skillsAttention to detailStrong note-taking skillsOrganized with ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlinesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentExperience in Microsoft Office programsRequired Experience:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in a degree seeking program during employment.No experience required.

NCTCOG currently operates as a hybrid workplace. Our offices are located in Arlington, Texas.
