In this role you will work on various structural design projects with MassDOT, MBTA and municipalities throughout Massachusetts. As a Designer you will perform engineering calculations, drawing, and plan preparations using AutoCAD as well as prepare quantity and cost estimates. You will also perform inspections of in-service bridges, tunnels and other structures, and help to prepare inspection reports on the findings.Location This position is a hybrid position working 2 days remote and 3 days in our office in Boston, MA.The Impact You Will Have
Collect data to create models, perform analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.Create design details under the direction of Project Managers.Compute quantities and define their relationships to pay items.Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.Perform regular field or site visits for data collection with project engineers and managers.Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable Autodesk, Microsoft, and structural analysis software packages.Assist in performing bridge and tunnel inspections and documenting findings through inspection reports.What You Will Need
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus.Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)Excellent time management skills.Detailed, diligent, curious, and organized individual who thrives in environments that are deadline driven.Explore the Benefits of Working at Benesch!
