OUR SCHOOLThe Governor's Academy, the oldest boarding school in New England, inspires and engages inquisitive students in ninth through twelfth grade. Our 456-acre campus is located thirty miles north of Boston and five miles south of Newburyport, a classic New England coastal town. Govs has approximately 400 students and 200 employees.

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a part-time position with no benefits. This position works during the academic year and when school is in session. This position does not work during breaks or over the summer. Library Assistants are responsible for front desk coverage, student supervision, and facilitating student use of the library and resources. Library Assistants also provide clerical and administrative support to help keep the library running smoothly.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide coverage for the circulation deskMaintain a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staffUnderstand and assist in the implementation of all library policiesAssist in the processing of library materialsAssist with annual inventory and other projectsMaintain an appropriate atmosphere for study and researchComfortable with technology to help with basic support and troubleshootingA demonstrated interest in social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion work.Perform related tasks as needed
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated ability to build rapport with teensMust be able to work collegially; must be committed to working in a diverse community and have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detailProficiency in Google SuiteSuccessful completion of a criminal records background check
HOURSPart-time positions during the school year. Hours available include Sundays 12 pm to 6 pm, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays 5:45 pm to 9:45 pm. The schedule may change according to the Academy's needs.Hourly/Non-Exempt
