hief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO)
to lead the next chapter of bold innovation, global connection, and mission-driven storytelling. This is more than a senior-level role—it’s an

strategic architect
behind a reimagined brand identity, member engagement strategy, and global communications framework. This leader will
champion cross-functional initiatives

elevate Sigma’s impact on a global stage.
We are looking for a passionate executive with deep association experience who believes marketing should ignite imagination, not just meet metrics—and who
thrives at the intersection of heart, strategy, and innovation. A Day in the Life Your days will never be the same—but they will be meaningful. You’ll partner directly with the CEO, the Chief Volunteer and Engagement Officer (your executive-level “bestie”), and a committed leadership team to redefine how the world sees Sigma and the nursing profession.
You’ll
lead an in-house marketing and communications team through a period of transformational change
, driving alignment across social media, newsletters, brand campaigns, merchandise, and PR initiatives. You’ll take the lead on signature events and global campaigns, including an elevated strategy for
National Nurses Week
, showcasing the authentic, diverse faces of nursing through powerful storytelling. You’ll own the voice of Sigma—building trust, credibility, and relevance with audiences ranging from new Gen Z nurses to long-standing legacy members to external partners across the globe. This role calls for equal parts
strategy, creativity, and operational leadership
.
You’ll be entrusted to evaluate and evolve our marketing tech stack, build an internal structure that empowers your team to thrive, and establish clear KPIs that reflect growth, innovation, and connection. Whether you’re leading a rebrand, launching a TikTok campaign, partnering with membership on Gen Z retention, or developing an op-ed for The New York Times,

Additional Details This is a
fully remote position
with occasional in-person presence requested—typically in alignment with monthly CEO visits to our Indianapolis headquarters or for organization-wide events. While location flexibility is supported, preference may be given to candidates based in or near Indianapolis for ease of collaboration. This is not an entry-point executive role—we are seeking a
