Love helping people and being surrounded by books? As a Customer Service Assistant at the library, you'll be the go-to person for creating great experiences for our visitors. Whether it's answering questions, helping with program sign-ups, taking payments, or booking community spaces, you'll make sure everyone feels welcome and supported. You'll work both in person and over the phone to connect people with the resources, events, and services they need - all while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. Key Responsibilities: Answers phones and provides public with general information regarding recreation programs. Accepts applications for programs, checks applications and/or agreements for accuracy and enters information into computer. Inputs, retrieves and upgrades customer data and account status into computerized system. Receive payments from the public for a variety of City services on the phone, through the mail and in person; checks payment for accuracy; reserves parks, facilities and equipment. May require the performance of additional job responsibilities. Assist with special programs and events as needed. Performs related duties as assigned. Why Peoria?

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience:
Previous experience required in the same or similar positions Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license upon hire. Must complete all required City training courses within six months of hire Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to maintain a safe work environment in accordance with city policies and procedures for patrons, co-workers and self. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
