Position Title: Certified Teacher
Supervisor: Principal at assigned location

Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: The following responsibilities align with our strategic plan for student success, safety and well-being, stewardship of community resources, and community connection. We believe these four areas help us remain focused on Peoria Unified’s vision: Every Student, Every Day, Prepared to Shape Tomorrow.
- Student Success: Manage and educate students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential. Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans. Document and share student grades and evaluations.
- Safety and Well-Being: Cultivate a creative learning environment and maintain a safe, inviting, and nurturing space for students, staff, and the community. Set and uphold standards of classroom behavior and discipline policies. Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Community Connection: Enhance Peoria Unified’s culture by encouraging and strengthening parent and community partnerships. Be available to students and parents outside the regular instructional day when required. Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and community members.
- Stewardship of Community Resources: Adhere to effective policies, practices, and accountability of District resources. Maintain accurate records. Strive to improve professional competence. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or qualifications to become certified in Arizona. Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Other Requirements: Additional training or certification may be required for specialized assignments. Must pass fingerprint and background checks. Must obtain and maintain a valid government-issued ID. May need to lift supplies up to 20 pounds and students up to 60 pounds. May require outside normal hours. May involve travel.
