Job Summary
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating content, identifying communication needs and disseminating information to audiences of Columbia Southern University. This position works to provide communications that support internal client needs and promotes a positive public image.
Essential Job Tasks Additional Duties May Be Assigned.
Manages editorial planning, writing and editing of CSU Alumni Magazine.Drafts, edits and publishes CSU Communicator blog articles and monthly email.Manages editorial planning, writing and editing of the Learning Partner eNewsletter.Organizes and maintains student/alumni/faculty testimonials.Promotes, maintains and enhances workplace culture within the department and university.

Knowledge
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.Grammar - Knowledge and thorough understanding of Associated Press StyleAcademic Processes - Knowledge of university guidelines, course descriptions, and academic terminologyClerical - Knowledge of office administrative procedures including word processing, managing files and records, typing, and other office proceduresComputer - Knowledge of basic and intermediate computer processes including word processing, web browsing, and Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel

Education & Experience
Requires a Bachelor’s degree.
Equipment Used
Office equipment including computers, telephones, printers, faxes, and copiers.Software use includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint, Publishing, Word Processing, Blackboard LMS, and proprietary student database, Omega.It is required to have reliable internet for this position.
Work Environment
Remote with a self-designated office with reliable internet. Office equipment is furnished. Remote employees are required to have a suitable workspace and environment for conducting business. This space should be located where it is free from constant distractions and lengthy meetings can be conducted or attended.
