Description
The Finance and Administration Cabinet, Division of Real Properties manages the Commonwealth of Kentucky'sreal property. Responsibilities include the acquisition of property required by the Commonwealth (excludinghighway right-of-way, universities, and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System); maintaining anaccurate inventory of owned and leased state property; leasing land and/or buildings for use by stateagencies; maintaining space assignment records of all state-owned buildings managed by the cabinet; andpreparing quarterly occupancy charges for all cabinet-managed buildings. The Division acquires, sells, leases,and inventories real property, as well as designs and space plans state owned and leased properties.
The Project Design Coordinator is a valued member of the Real Properties team. The position is located withinthe Space Design and Inventory Branch and will primarily assist agencies with their space design needs.
Key Responsibilities:Space plan potential leased sites to meet agencies needsSpace plan Finance and Administration Cabinet administered facilities to meet agencies needsMeet with agency representatives to ensure that space will be obtained that provides an efficient spaceplanConduct site visitsMeasure buildings and enter space plan into AutoCAD that meet the state space standards and agencyneedsPreferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Interior DesignStrong written and verbal communicationProficient in AutoCADFamiliarity with related standards of housing, building, and constructionPerform under pressure to complete projects in a timely mannerProficient with Microsoft Office products, mainly Outlook and WordIf you are interested in a challenging, rewarding career designing efficient, effective space plans for stateagencies, please submit an application for the Project Design Coordinator I position.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of experience in site planning, landscape, facilities design, facilities construction, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for- year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites, which may require the following of safety procedures.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
