We are seeking two (2) qualified candidates to join our team as
Communications & Outreach Leads (SDA/TLT)
(Project/Program Manager III). These positions are key project managers, responsible for 1) leading team projects, 2) building relationships with community members and other stakeholders, 3) assessing needs, and planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating outreach and communication strategies and tactics, and 4) managing consultant contracts and project budgets. The successful candidates will also create and manage communication initiatives including content for social media, websites and other outreach channels that engage people who live, work, and play in King County.
What You Will Be Doing:
Strategic communications planning:
Use strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to anticipate, prepare for, and navigate risks during project management; Design and execute an integrated communications strategy, including a public and media relations strategy; Ensure cross-collaboration between communications and other departments and ensure that adequate support from communications is provided for priority projects and campaigns.Project and program management:
Manage multiple projects and guide teams by delegating tasks, ensuring quality control, and evaluating project performance.Community and customer outreach, planning and engagement:
Develop and execute strategies to engage historically underserved and limited English proficient communities; Build relationships with new and existing agency and community partners in order to establish regular and effective communication and engagement. Understand and implement communications and outreach strategies and tactics using an equity, race, and social justice framework.Writing and creating digital and printed materials:
Maintain the organization's website and other digital properties, and monitor analytics; Draft, edit, and disseminate content for a news blog, newsletter, social media, and email communications; Develop digital outreach strategies and monitor social media engagement and impact.Marketing and public relations:
Determine the most effective communications strategies and formulating long-term and short-term plans to improve brand recognition and reputation; Serve as press contact and draft press materials, including media advisories, press releases, talking points, letters to the editor, and other communications products; Conduct regular media monitoring.Qualifications You Bring:
At least three (3) years of progressive experience in community outreach, communications, marketing, or another related field.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and guide teams by delegating tasks, ensuring quality control, and evaluating project performance.Excellent oral and written communications skills.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with community members of all backgrounds, multi-disciplinary project teams, and leaders at an organization.Skilled at working independently to set priorities, organize work, manage competing assignments, and meet deadlines.Working Conditions:
Remote and Onsite Work Details:
Employees in these roles work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typically 1-2 times per month. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly.Remote Work Location Requirement:
Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.Work Schedule:
These full-time positions work a 40-hour work week. These positions are exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and are not overtime eligible.Union Representation:
