Base pay range
$75.00/hr - $95.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Demand.io Demand.io is seeking a skilled and experienced UX Researcher to provide independent consulting services on a temporary basis with a rolling monthly contract. The contractor will deliver specific research projects for SimplyCodes, working as an independent consultant to provide research insights and deliverables to our product marketing and design teams. This engagement focuses on discrete research initiatives utilizing Jobs to be Done (JTBD) methodology, UX user testing, and marketing research to guide product development and innovation. This is an independent contractor position. The contractor will operate as a separate business entity and is not an employee of Demand.io. About Demand.io The contractor will execute the following research projects and deliverables: JTBD Research Initiative : Design and conduct Jobs to be Done research projects to uncover functional and emotional customer motivations, delivering comprehensive analysis reports User Testing Projects : Plan and execute discrete UX testing initiatives, providing detailed findings and recommendations Survey Development & Analysis : Create and administer JTBD-specific measurement tools, delivering analysis and recommendations Research Reports : Provide actionable insights, research, and methodology reports in accessible formats The contractor maintains full autonomy over research methodologies and approaches used to achieve these project deliverables, while ensuring alignment with agreed-upon project outcomes and timelines. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience conducting independent UX research with demonstrated expertise in JTBD methodology Strong analytical and logical skills, including causal reasoning and the ability to identify assumptions in customer narratives Exceptional empathy and communication skills for conducting interviews and presenting actionable findings Knowledge of behavioral science and psychology Proficiency with industry-standard research tools and methodologies (contractor may utilize their preferred tools and platforms) Experience using AI tools to enhance research capabilities and analysis Expert in qualitative research methods including JTBD interviews, ethnographic studies, and thematic analysis Competent in quantitative research, including survey design and data analysis Proven ability to work independently as a consultant with minimal supervision Experience delivering research projects in fast-paced environments Experience applying behavioral science principles to identify patterns in user decision-making Nice to Have Independent consulting experience in consumer apps and e-commerce industry Expertise in coupon and deals marketplace dynamics Advanced skills in meta-analysis and synthesis methodologies Statistical analysis capabilities using Python, R, or SPSS Background in economics, management consulting, or marketing strategy Relationship : Independent contractor providing consulting services Contract Structure : Rolling monthly contract with 30-day terms Location : Remote work with optional hybrid collaboration at Santa Monica location for project meetings Project Hours : 20-40 hours per week (flexible based on project demands and contractor availability) Compensation : $75-95/hour based on experience and project complexity Initial Engagement : Initial engagement is up to 3 months, terminable by either party with 2 weeks' notice after the first month. Extensions subject to mutual agreement. Contractor Freedom : Contractor is free to work with other clients during this engagement period Demand.io will provide project requirements and deliverable specifications, while the contractor maintains full discretion over the methods and processes used to achieve agreed-upon project outcomes.
