Purpose Statement:
The job of Multimedia Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of providing video support to the Communications Director and Athletics Department for increasing student, parental and community involvement by keeping stakeholders informed using broadcast and electronic formats; and supporting the District's community relations, community outreach programs, and business/school partnerships.
This job reports to Communications Director.
Essential FunctionsCoordinate and execute video production in tandem with Communications Director, district stakeholders, and Athletics Department, including live production of district assemblies and recognition events, athletic events, and shooting/editing district news stories videos.Shoot and edit marketing and district image videos for web, social media, and television distribution.Photograph district events, student and staff activities, and athletic events/teams.Ensure school district videos and/or graphics are disseminated in a quality format.Shoot, edit and produce high-quality athletic videos for playback during athletic events.Develop modern graphic design for use in videos, on social media, and online.Serve as producer and technical director for live sporting events utilizing Daktronics.Secure advertising contracts for electronic scoreboards and produce, shoot/edit advertising videos as needed, to include graphic design and animation.Manage and maintain videography/photography equipment and accessories, and monitor equipment needs while optimizing departmental budget.Maintain a district photo/video archive.Pitch story ideas to the Communications Director on a routine basis using information gathered from multiple sources.Collaborate with district personnel for the purpose of developing public communication, including video and social media.Operate a variety of video, audio and computer equipment for the purpose of producing programs for broadcast, web site and e-mail distribution.Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of recognition programs and special events for the purpose of ensuring the programs are run according to district expectations and guidelines.Maintain excellent relations with students, principals, teachers, staff and community members for the purpose of serving as a communications liaison for schools.Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and facilitating communication among parties.Research current technology for the purpose of keeping the district communications department up-to-date with new technology.Serves as a back-up to Communications Director regarding social media.Regularly works evenings and weekends as events require.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge Of Job:Has general knowledge of the policies, procedures, and activities of the School System as they pertain to the performance of duties relating to the job of Media Production Coordinator.Has expertise of videography, including shooting, editing and live production.Has knowledge of Daktronics or other video display technology.Has general knowledge of social media and web design as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities.Knows how to develop and administer operations and staff plans and objectives for the expedience and effectiveness of specific duties of the department.Knows how to keep abreast of any changes in policy, methods, computer operations, equipment needs, etc. as they pertain to department operations and activities.Is able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, members of the general public and all other groups involved in the activities of the department.Is able to assemble information and make written reports and documents in a concise, clear and effective manner.Has good organizational, human relations and technical skills.Is able to use independent judgment and work with little direct supervision when necessary.Has the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply regulations, procedures and related information.Has comprehensive knowledge of the terminology, principles, and methods utilized within the department.Has the mathematical ability to handle required calculations.Is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to use appropriate grammar and spelling and write on different levels depending on the audience.Proficiency with current technology for performance of duties; including Adobe Creative Suite for video editing, video/graphic animation, graphic design, social media, live/multi-camera production, presentations and publication/print software.Excellent analytical and critical thinking and judgment skills.Must have reliable transportation
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally the job requires 25% sitting, 25% walking, and 50% standing.
Experience
Two years of related experience in video production and/or media work. Previous experience working with Daktronics or similar program is preferred. Previous experience working in Public Schools is preferable.
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in video production, journalism, public relations, graphic art & design, communications or related field.
