Role Overview: As the Trade Marketing Manager for Macy’s, you will be responsible for developing and executing fragrance-focused marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility, drive sales, and create compelling in-store experiences within Macy’s fragrance department. Your primary focus will be on aligning Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s fragrance activations with Macy’s promotional calendar, experiential retail initiatives, and Pop-Up Shop partnerships to optimize brand presence and engagement. This role requires a deep understanding of Macy’s fragrance business, in-store event activations, and customer experience strategies to ensure Dolce & Gabbana maintains a strong competitive position in the market. Key Responsibilities:
Trade Marketing Strategy for Macy’s Fragrance Business: Develop and implement strategic trade marketing plans specifically designed to drive Dolce & Gabbana’s fragrance category at Macy’s. Align fragrance marketing activations and brand promotions with Macy’s key sales moments, including:
Macy’s VIP Sale Events Macy’s Friends & Family Sales Macy’s Black Friday & Holiday Fragrance Promotions Father’s Day & Mother’s Day Fragrance Gifting Events National Fragrance Week & Macy’s Scent Events
Retailer Collaboration & Promotional Alignment: Partner with Macy’s fragrance merchant and marketing teams to develop tailored promotional strategies that elevate Dolce & Gabbana’s fragrance presence. Develop exclusive in-store marketing activations, ensuring alignment with Macy’s seasonal fragrance campaigns, gift-with-purchase (GWP) programs, and exclusive product launches. Leverage Macy’s Star Rewards Program to drive fragrance loyalty and repeat purchases through targeted offers and exclusive member benefits. Macy’s Fragrance Pop-Up Shop Partnerships & Experiential Retail Activations: Work closely with Macy’s special projects and experiential marketing teams to develop and execute Dolce & Gabbana Pop-Up Shop partnerships, creating immersive fragrance experiences that drive trial and conversion. Conceptualize high-impact Pop-Up activations featuring personalized consultations, engraving stations, exclusive gift sets, interactive scent discovery, and high-end visual merchandising for a multi-sensory brand experience. Align Pop-Up activations with Macy’s flagship store events, seasonal activations, and peak shopping periods. Track performance and customer engagement from Pop-Up Shop activations to optimize future experiential retail partnerships. In-Store & Consumer Engagement Strategy: Design and execute fragrance-focused in-store activations to attract customers and enhance their shopping experience, including:
Macy’s Scent Event Activations, featuring luxury sampling stations and interactive scent discovery experiences. Macy’s Fragrance Festival & Gala Events, offering one-on-one consultations, fragrance layering masterclasses, and bespoke fragrance engraving services. Exclusive VIP Shopping Nights, catering to Macy’s top-tier fragrance customers and loyalty members.
Market & Competitor Awareness: Monitor trends in the prestige fragrance market, customer behaviors, and competitor strategies within Macy’s to refine trade marketing efforts and drive differentiation. Utilize Macy’s sales data and fragrance category insights to optimize trade marketing strategies and ensure impactful execution of promotional campaigns. Budget Tracking and ROI Analysis: Oversee and manage budget allocations for Macy’s fragrance-specific trade marketing initiatives, ensuring optimal resource allocation for maximum ROI. Forecast demand for fragrance sampling programs, promotional tools, and Pop-Up activations, ensuring timely and strategic execution. Analyze campaign performance and provide data-driven recommendations for future fragrance marketing strategies. Brand Advocacy & Execution Excellence: Serve as a Dolce & Gabbana fragrance brand ambassador, ensuring that all marketing materials, activations, and in-store experiences reflect the brand’s luxury image and DNA. Oversee execution of all Macy’s fragrance activations, ensuring alignment with Macy’s customer engagement approach and experiential retail expectations. Partner with field teams and Macy’s fragrance advisors to train and educate sales associates on Dolce & Gabbana’s fragrance storytelling, olfactive families, and key product differentiators. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in trade marketing, fragrance marketing, or retail marketing, preferably within Macy’s or department store beauty retail. Strong understanding of Macy’s fragrance business, customer profile, promotional calendar, and experiential retail strategies. Proven ability to plan and execute fragrance-focused Pop-Up Shops and immersive brand activations. Strong collaboration skills with Macy’s corporate fragrance teams, special projects teams, and visual merchandising teams. Experience in budget management, forecasting, and sales analysis to track marketing impact. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and digital marketing tools.
