Digital Media & Video Specialist Job Description:
Experienced, take-charge professional responsible for creating media materials for online marketing tools, for websites, podcasts, blogs, and videos for website, biblical teaching series, advertisements, on-demand webcasts, and social media. The Digital Media & Video Specialist will create, write, review and edit marketing materials, coordinate social media activities for Women Living Well Ministries (WLWM), and will create and develop video creation productions using programs such as Adobe Creative Suite Video Editing Software, Canva, and more, to add music, graphics, animation, and to develop, edit and upload/manage video content.
This role will work collaboratively with the President and Marketing Coordinator to promote their goals and messages while maintaining and aligning with the ministries’ message and image. They may also add special effects, animation, or graphics, while also ensuring the video meets brand and quality standards – is compressed for output, has proper lighting, the right encoded media and optimized for production, publishing, and distribution. This person will play a pivotal role in executing and refining Women Living Well Ministries' credibility and build communities to create integrated digital media campaigns for digital platforms ensuring consistency in voice and ministries’ branding.
The Digital Media & Video Specialist, is like a teacher, will engage and connect with the communities’ friends more with the social media world through digital media and video productions.
Reporting to the President and Marketing Coordinator, the Digital Media & Video Specialist will work alongside one another with strategic planning to promote WLWM’ goals and messages to communities’ clients.
Must be able to meet deadlines with little supervision.
The Digital Media & Video Specialist should have a love for digital and social media, and video production, excellent written and verbal communication, a creative writing style and philanthropy knowledge to help grow WLWM’ community awareness, along with serving people, providing outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be a team player.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Understand the goal, audience, and message of a campaign and create copy to suit. Write advertising copy for use by publication, broadcast and/or video production media to promote sale of goods and services.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative iCloud (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, & Adobe Illustrator), Canva, Apple and other programs and software that pertain to the social media outlets, graphic design, and video production.
- Research, write, edit and proof all levels of copy included headlines and body copy, for all online, offline, external and internal needs.
- Assist with video production recordings in WLWM Studio and/or virtually through Zoom and/or use of other video software to record teaching videos.
- Make editorial decisions with video creation process & development of a recorded video(s) – what to keep, what to cut, and ensuring all technical elements create a good quality video that meets WLWM’ standards and project goals.
- Produce the “final” video production and/or series of videos for production/distribution.
- Build and implement social media programs that ensure appropriate messaging is executed online, to support corporate goals, incorporating Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, etc.
- Ability to create graphic designs for social media and in house use.
- Monitor social media groups, trends, tools, and applications and recommend actions/next steps.
- Cultivate new communities and manage branding online communities on WLWM’ behalf using Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube and other social media. The specialist will provide relevant content daily while tracking metrics and monitoring relevant conversations.
- Work closely with the President and Marketing Coordinator to develop and post content to social networking sites.
- Monitor and engage in brand related online conversations.
- Monitor the WLWM's social media performance usage reports and tracking search engine results.
- Use creative thinking and initiative to analyze site performance metrics and make recommendations on content, site design or features to improve effectiveness of web content and/or applications.
- Respond to social media inquiries about online activities in a timely and courteous fashion.
- Provide support to other team members on online promotions (such as Google, AdWords campaigns and email marketing).
- Develop and design a video production for grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.
- Work alongside marketing coordinator and/or president with assembling and submitting proposals, budgets, and presentations.
- Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of proposal deadlines, and reports.
- Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals/promotions.
- Ability to work with non-technical clients, interns and students and translate content into multimedia products in formats including but not limited to: video, audio, graphics, digital animations, HTML. Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team member and Mentor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the usage of digital media channels to improve the company’s online presence and customer engagement.
- Ensure WLWM’ is visually portrayed to a high standard on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Twitter, and video platforms.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, metrics and tracking.
- Sets up video and lighting, shoots, records audios, mixes and performs related production activities. Acts as a technical and creative resource assisting staff with video production.
- Suggests technology or content ideas to help staff achieve desired outcomes from video project.
- Supports video conferencing recording virtually (i.e., Zoom and other video software).
- Translates audio, video, graphics, and digital animation and other digital media content into various distributable formats. Uploads video projects to servers and publishes HTML and URL links for digital content distribution.
- Maintains multimedia related equipment and software. Performs accessibility training and quality assurance.
- Provides training to individuals or small groups in production equipment and methods.
- Coordinate multiple projects with frequently adjusted priorities.
- Project management and organization skills.
- Learns quickly and able to change in fast paced environment.
- Ability to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines.
- Minimum 3+ years related professional experience.
- BS degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, PR, Communications, Videography, Business Administration, or related field.
- Web publishing experience.
- Experience managing communications through website planning, management and production.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a copywriter or social media coordinator and has a solid understanding of the social media universe (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience serving in video production (pre-production, production, and post-production) for online, DVD, lecture capture and/or tv content.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will stay up to date with the latest digital communication software and ensure WLWM is visually portrayed to a high standard on social media platforms, video productions and website. Ultimately, a top-notch Digital Media and Video Specialist should be creative and be able to analyze the impact of campaigns and projects on the company’s bottom line, and have excellent project management and organization skills because they are often involved in the pre-project planning of the video production process, working closely with leadership and teaching teams along with the President who have the same goals of making Christ Jesus known to the world.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidate must be self-motivated, detailed-oriented, and highly-organized, and have experience using digit media and video production to promote, engage, and connect with the communities’ clients more with the social media world and WLWM’ website. A high level of computer literacy required, including Canva, Photoshop, and other Adobe products, QuickTime, Mac OS and other software. Candidate must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
The right candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, videography, 2+ years of experience in marketing, video production. Strong written communication skills are necessary, with a strong biblical foundation of the Bible, knowledge on women's ministries - discipleship and leadership, an emphasis on video production excellence. Additionally, the candidate must possess a solid understanding of the social media universe, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter.
AGREEMENT:
The candidate will be part-time serving 15-20 hours a week, and there is flexibility with taking time off for scheduled vacations. It’s our desire that this position become full-time as WLWM’ grows, and leads us to doing just that. WLWM will provide a Mac OS laptop to use to house all WLWM’ digital media and video productions.
