Director of Marketing & Business Development
to join our client, a well-established and respected law firm located in Montgomery County, MD. This is a high-impact leadership role that will drive firm-wide marketing, branding, and business development strategies. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and professional services experience, particularly in the legal sector. Key Responsibilities: Build and strengthen relationships with current clients while launching initiatives that generate new business opportunities. Partner with leadership to shape and implement strategic marketing plans tailored to specific regions, practice areas, industries, and individual attorneys. Optimize the firm’s visibility through events, sponsorships, thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and digital campaigns. Maintain a structured process for updating marketing content, client information, and pitch materials in alignment with the firm’s goals. Track industry trends and competitive intelligence to guide strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities. Enhance the firm’s data collection processes and usage to better understand market positioning and client experience. Oversee updates to marketing databases, website content, professional bios, CRM systems, and mailing lists. Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels, including digital media, PR, and internal communications. Lead cross-functional collaboration with attorneys and practice groups to align business development efforts with firm-wide objectives. Leverage a mix of earned media, digital marketing, and content strategy to elevate brand awareness and credibility. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related business discipline. A minimum of 10 years of marketing/business development experience in a professional services environment, with at least 5 years in a law firm setting. Proven leadership and people management experience. Key Skills and Competencies: Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable synthesizing complex data into actionable insights. Skilled at managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering measurable results. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience with content development and presentations. Ability to coach and collaborate with attorneys on business development goals. Adept at navigating shifting priorities in a fast-paced professional environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities. Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with CRM systems such as ContactEase (or similar platforms). Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) is a plus. Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
