Location
This is a remote position. Open to candidates located in OR, WA, CA, CO, TX, IL.
Compensation
Starting Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $89,000

What You'll Accomplish
- Design and refine user experiences: Create intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly experiences that streamline user flows and adhere to UX best practices.
- Ideate UX solutions: Support product squads with UX research, wireframing, rapid prototyping, and information architecture exercises to develop impactful UX solutions.
- Develop UX design deliverables: Produce user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma.
- Collaborate effectively: Work closely with product managers, developers, and design leadership to ensure a cohesive experience across platforms.
- Design Review: Engage in regular presentations and design reviews with product leadership, incorporating feedback into design revisions.
- Participate in user research: Gather user feedback through usability testing and research, iterating on designs to improve the user experience.
- Optimize for performance and accessibility: Create user interfaces that are visually appealing, accessible, and optimized for performance.
- Collaborate on the design system: Contribute to and maintain the design system, ensuring consistency across the entire Discogs ecosystem.
- Exercise design thinking: Understand user needs and create innovative solutions through iterative processes.
- Champion design excellence: Strive to improve Discogs' user experience and advocate for diversity and inclusion.
- Elevate Discogs visual design: Incorporate Discogs' new brand identity and the latest UX design trends.
- Responsive design: Optimize design solutions for usability across all screen sizes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years related work experience (design experience).
- Deep understanding of UX principles and user-centered design practices.
- Proven experience as a UX Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing design projects.
- Expertise in crafting user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to deliver projects on time and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for user-friendly experiences.
- Sound decision making regarding design elements.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Strong working knowledge of Figma.
Team Specifics
- Knowledge of music discographies to improve product information architecture.
- Optimize UGC content management for enhanced contributions.
- Conduct research to understand the needs of diverse music buyers.
- Implement modern UX principles to elevate the shopping journey.
- Apply Discogs' updated brand identity to modernize the user experience.
Preferred
- Experience with design systems in e-commerce or music platforms.
- Familiarity with interaction design.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS).
- Passion for music and knowledge of record collecting.
